However you chose to celebrate I hope you had a fun and fabulous time.
I certainly did. But more on that in a moment. Because before looking forward to all that a new year can bring, I like to take a moment to reflect.
Like so many people, I find myself setting New Year’s resolutions, and I try to set resolutions based on events, feelings, and moments from the year just gone. And what a year 2024 was.
You helped me make memories that will last a lifetime. I consider it a privilege to have so many special friends who enrich my life, each in your own unique way.
Speaking of enriching, I was overwhelmed last month by your Christmas-cheer generosity. Thanks to you I now have enough Honey Birdette collections to sink a ship which got me thinking…
Many of you will ask for some inspiration on what to treat me to this month for my birthday, so I have decided that instead of presents, it would mean the absolute world to me if you would kindly make a donation to a charity organisation close to my heart called The Booth Centre, a local centre run for people experiencing poverty and affected by homelessness. Being homeless is an injustice at any time of the year, but feels particularly cruel in Winter-time. This is my small way of giving something back to a city that I love dearly and that has always been kind to me, for I very much see myself as an adopted Mancunian.
To help The Booth Centre and the amazing work that they do you can donate here.
OK, with all of that said, let me finally share a few notes with you about my New Year celebrations.
To see in the new year I attended a black tie gala dinner at a 17th century stately home. This was an absolute delight because, as many of you know by now, I’m a lady who adores an opportunity to dress properly for an occasion.
As you can see, I had zero plans to go gently into that good night. I intended to wow and begin 2025 looking absolutely fabulous.
I wore a beautiful off the shoulder ball gown in classic black. (It was a black tie dinner after all.) No outfit is complete without some sparkle. The dress was complemented by a ruby jewel choker and matching earrings. And I completed my look with a pair of claret red Casadei blade heels.
This may or may not be too much outfit information for you. But I shan’t apologise. One of my favourite parts of any evening out is getting ready. Especially if it’s for a particularly fancy event, which this certainly was.
Dinner ended well before the stroke of midnight, giving us time to make our way into the gardens. As the new year rolled in, the fireworks began. And they were truly magical to see in such a beautiful stately home setting.
Starting a new year with a bang really is the only way to properly see it in.
Thank you, wishing you a peaceful and prosperous year ahead. I’m looking forward to making new memories with you in 2025 and to igniting new exciting connections!
